308 – History Goes Bump on the 9th
Today my guests are Diane Student and Denise Moormeier of the History Goes Bump Podcast.
We talk about paranormal in life and history. Mostly we discuss story and why we love it. We also talk about Victoria and she pops by to lend her opinion on who really decided she was to become more than a voice over.
We also talk about what makes a podcast compelling how you find your voice and the importance of constantly improving and challenging yourself.
History isn’t boring, it’s terrifying, and also a hell of a lot of fun!
Today’s episode is dedicated to Leonard Nimoy. Mr. Nimoy had a huge impact on my concept of story and storytelling. In my opinion, he was a great storyteller, an accomplished actor, director and writer.
He could express more emotion and convey more information as a character who kept his emotions tightly controlled than many other actors.
Oddly, we mention him in this episode which was recorded over three weeks ago. Spooky!

Diane Student and Denise Moormeier of the History Goes Bump Podcast
Diane Student is the founder of History Goes Bump In The Night and host of the podcast, History Goes Bump, and the former host of the award winning live internet radio show, The Freedom’s Wings Show, which she produced for five years from 2009-2013. Archived shows can still be found at iTunes and at Blog Talk Radio. Be forewarned though, it was a political show. She is a writer of both fiction and non-fiction and blogs at several websites. She is a taphophile and shares her adventures in cemetery exploration athttp://wherehistorylies.blogspot.com. She views ghosts from the perspective of a biblical worldview. This does not mean she thinks all hauntings are demonic in nature. Many are demonic deception, but there are a variety of possibilities for other ghostly activity: A crossing of the Veil that God allows, a last good-bye, an unsaved soul awaiting the Final Judgement, time travel and teleportation via Quantum Physics, a weird time blip causing residual repeating activity or alien activity. She does believe that the only counter to demonic activity is the power in the name of Jesus Christ. She laughs at sage smudging and holy water throwing. She also does not believe we should cross the Veil on purpose by using Ouija Boards, conjuring, specific types of paranormal investigating (Asking questions and recording answers) and etc.
Denise Moormeier is the former co-host of Twilight Hour and now shyly wrangles the co-hosting duties on The History Goes Bump Podcast. She is a seventh degree black belt (Master Instructor) in Taekwon-Do and the Region 9 Director for the United States Taekwon-Do Federation. Her boss is a giant mouse that can be found in Central Florida. She enjoys haunted history/ghost tours and loves to wield the camera to see what she can catch. She is also a taphophile and likes to explore cemeteries. Her beliefs on ghosts are that they are real, but she is not sure what they are and has no desire to communicate on purpose with them. She bravely ventures into dark places when Diane sends her off alone to take some pictures.
